Tadawul registers 320 foreign institutions, says chairwoman

 

Sarah al-Suhaimi, the Chairwoman of the Tadawul, said that she expects qualified foreign investors to increase before and after the inclusion in the MSCI index.

The Saudi stock exchange chairwoman said that some 320 foreign institutions have registered as qualified foreign investors in the stock market and 200 more are expected to register.

The Saudi Tadawul chairman was speaking at the ongoing Future Investment Initiative conference in Riyadh.

Global index provider MSCI classified Saudi Arabian equity market as an emerging market in June, a development which is expected to attract billions of dollars of passive funds.
